The restaurant Five in Birmingham that I am currently boycotting because they no longer have their Shrimp Queso that I am obsessed with and the band Five. Please don't even pretend like you didn't get your dancing groove on when you heard "When the Lights Go Out" or my favorite "Slam Dunk Da Funk."

Five bad boys with the power to rock you
Blowing your mind so you gotta get into
Do you remember they featured that song in the movie Smart House. I loved that movie! That house was awesome, until shit started to get weird. Maybe I don't want my house to be a huge computer.

Anywho, it is Friday, and on Fridays we link up with Joy for the Friday Five! Speaking of Joy, she just announced that her and her Mr are having a girl!!! I couldn't be more excited for them.

1. Halloween is just around the corner. While I hate all things scary, gory and freaky....I do love two classic Halloween movies.
2. Pumpkin cookies with cream cheese chips. Holy yum. Not only were they delicious, but they made my house smell like fall heaven when they were cooking. Go ahead and splurge, they are only around for the season! (They are Pillsbury brake and bake kind.)
4. It is hard to believe, but I have officially been a resident of the South for 15 years, AKA half my life! My family moved to Georgia in October of 1998. Let the fact that 1998 was 15 years ago sink in. Feeling old yet?

5. We have been making tacos a lot lately. What do you like to serve with yours? I use extra lean ground beef, black beans, sour cream, Mexican blend cheese, jalapeños, taco bell mild sauce and a soft flour wrap. I serve it with my Spanish Brown Rice. Devine.

I don't know why, but I was thinking about this the other day as I was sitting on the interstate, in traffic of course!

If I ruled the world...

We would have 4 day work weeks. Welcome to the weekend, Friday!

There would be separate lanes for 18-wheelers and regular cars. I have had too many close calls to count and I don't want my obituary to read "Death by 18-wheeler." Just because you drive a big ass truck, doesn't mean you don't have to look before you change lanes!

The government wouldn't shut down because they cant get along.

People would stop playing the "race card" because people are people no matter the color of skin.

Holidays would become days to celebrate and spend time with family again. I love Black Friday like no other, but employees shouldn't have to work on Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter. Whatever happened to old traditions?

The guilty would be properly punished. None of this get off on good behavior bullshit. Eye for an eye, bitches. Speaking of an eye for an eye......Animal cruelty would be treated much like an eye for an eye.

All doggies and kitties would have homes. There would be no kill shelters.

Everyone would have a job. I am all for government assistance when someone loses a job. However, you eventually need to go back to work! No one should have a free ride at the expensive of others that work hard. Nothing pisses me off more than people that cheat the system.

Speaking of the system. If you are on government assistance, you shouldn't be eating better than someone who isn't! You should get vouchers for only necessities like bread, milk, eggs, etc. You shouldn't be able to purchase sodas, candy, and other garbage. Also, you should be given drug tests and if you test positive for something, you loose your assistance. AND if you are asking for money then you cant afford alcohol or cigarettes. Period.

There would be no cancer. Sometimes I feel like with all the technology and treatments out there....someone is holding back to make money on pharmaceuticals or something. I would make sure that a cure is found and all the research and money put towards it is being used properly.

Stupidity and ignorance would be punishable. (haha)

Starbucks would cost less. $5 for a PSL. It is ridiculous!!!! (Even if I do indulge now and then.)

Medical and dental bills wouldn't be so outrageous! I wouldn't allow doctors to be persuaded by drug companies to prescribe their medicine over another that might be better for that patient just because they are getting kick backs.

Restaurants would have to start serving real food. None of this pink mystery meat and overly processed garbage.

Restaurants would also have a section for 21 and up to sit. I cant stand listening to kids screaming and running around in a nice restaurant while I am trying to enjoy my food and company.

All school systems would be good. Just because you live in a certain area doesn't mean you don't deserve the finest education if you are willing to work for it.

Everyone would be required to work in either the service industry or retail at some point in their life to appreciate how to act like a human in public and treat others with respect.

There would be no parking fees. Anywhere. That is just stupid.

All of my favorite shows would come back from the 80's and 90's.

Gas prices would go down.

There would never be an monopoly in a certain type of market. (That means you cable and internet companies.)

And that is just a few things I would change!

There are certain events that happen in your life and you tend to bury them deep down because they hurt to think about.

The other day I was listening to Spotify on my way home from work. I was driving along down a back road, watching the sunset and a song came on that reminded me of someone. The song was "Hold On" by Good Charlotte and it reminds me of one of my best friends from high school, MG.

During the fall semester of my sophomore year of high school, my family relocated to Georgia. I had to leave all my friends behind and it was hard. It seemed as though I was just adjusting to the new school that I had started at just the year before, and here I was having to do it all over again. I went from going to an incredibly small high school in the middle of no where Missouri to a VERY large high school in metro-Atlanta.

I had a lot of trouble my sophomore year. Adjusting to the move was difficult. Making new friends was difficult. Trying to keep in touch with the friends I moved away from and missing them like crazy. One day I came home from school and my friend MG called me and said that she had ran away from home and was traveling down to GA with her boyfriend and to be expecting her to drop by. I knew she had a lot going on in her life. She seemed depressed and she was dating someone much older than she and they were on and off. I couldn't believe that she was coming to see me.

I battled very hard about what the right thing to do was in this situation. Do I call MG's mom and tell her? Do I keep my friends secret because that is what friends are supposed to do? I turned to my parents, as I knew what the right thing was and I was trying to figure out how to do it without betraying her and running her off. My parents worked with MG's mom and played it cool. When they arrived in GA we took MG and her bf to dinner and her parents magically showed up there. My parents took the blame for calling. It seemed like her and her parents made up and they all left back to Missouri together.

Things were normal for a little while. Then I got sick. So very sick. I was in and out of the hospital with pneumonia. Taking tons of sick days from school. I was a mess. Also, my grandmother was not doing so well at the time and my mom left to take care of her some that spring. I wasn't allowed to see her because I was sick and we didn't want her to get sick. It was hard on me.

One day when I came home from school, the phone rang and I overheard my mom. She got very quiet and gave her condolences and walked outside to finish the conversation. Deep down I knew what this was about.

When my mom came back inside she called me downstairs. She told me that she had just gotten off the phone with MG's family and that MG had taken her own life. That her mom found her hanging in the basement when she had gotten home from work. Her funeral was to be later that week, and that she wishes she could send me but I just wasn't healthy enough to travel.

At first I was angry. Why would she do something like this? Then I was sad. My best friend is gone and I wasn't able to help her. Why didn't she call to talk to me. Was her life so bad that she felt like she had to end it? I heard many rumors from others that knew her that she might have been pregnant with her bf's baby. That they were on and off and it upset her. That people were mean to her at school. There were tons of rumors. But that is all that they were to me, just rumors.

Even though I missed the funeral, MG's mom sent me a package the following week. It had her funeral program in it, a few pictures of us together from her room...and a letter thanking me for being such a good friend to her daughter.

MG was the nicest person to me at that school. When my parents decided to move into a new school district the week before my first day of high school I was so mad and scared and upset. MG came up to me after freshmen orientation and said, "You look nervous but don't be. We are all new here this year and its going to be ok." She found me the first day of class and invited me into her circle of friends with open arms, no questions asked. How could someone who once did that, take their own life?

My parents were very concerned about me. I had a really rough year, and now my best friend was gone. They called the school and let the guidance counselor know what was going on in my life. They wanted her to talk to me privately to see if I was ok. I got called out in first period English class and when I found out why I was there I was furious. I told the counselor that there was nothing to talk about. MG was gone and I was dealing with it. She said that she was always there to talk to, and asked me about other things in my life instead. She said that it was getting close to the end of my sophomore year and asked me about my plans for what I wanted to do after high school. She asked what I thought about Collins Hill since it was my first year there. Just general questions.

When I got home, I told my mom that I was ok and not to call the school anymore. That I was embarrassed I got called out of class to go see the counselor. My mom said she just wanted to be sure that I was ok and wanted to hear it from someone else because I wouldn't talk about what happened at home. That she couldn't bear to lose me the way that MG's parents lost her. I couldn't be mad at her anymore for that.

I am just so thankful that my mom could tell that I was upset and holding things in to myself. While it would never be in my nature to do something like that, you just never know. If you ever think that someone might be contemplating suicide, or even showing signs of depression....talk to them. Or call someone who can talk to them. Nothing is ever that bad. You could save a life.

This world, this world is cold
But you don't, you don't have to go
You're feeling sad you're feeling lonely
And no one seems to care
You're mother's gone and your father hits you
This pain you cannot bare

But we all bleed the same way as you do
We all have the same things to go through

Hold on... if you feel like letting go
Hold on... it gets better than you know

Your days you say they're way too long
And your nights you can't sleep at all (hold on)
And you're not sure what you're waiting for
But you don't want to no more
And you're not sure what you're looking for but you don't want to no more

But we all bleed the same way as you do
And we all have the same things to go through

Hold on... if you feel like letting go
Hold on... it gets better than you know

Don't stop looking you're one step closer
Don't stop searching it's not over... hold on

What are you looking for?
What are you waiting for?
Do you know what you're doing to me?
Go ahead... what are you waiting for?

Hold on... if you feel like letting go
Hold on... it gets better than you know

Don't stop looking you're one step closer
Don't stop searching it's not over...

Hold on... if you feel like letting go
Hold on... it gets better than you know... hold on

I received the “Dr. Scholl's® For Her Active Series®” complimentary from Influenster last week and I have been trying them out during my morning work outs. All of the opinions in this post are my own.

I am going to be very honest here. The Nike shoes that are shown in these pictures are the most uncomfortable pair of work out shoes that I have ever owned. I took some birthday money well over a year ago and purchased them at the Nike Outlet near my house. Even on clearance these shoes were almost $90 so I thought that they had to be good.

During my morning workouts, my feet were KILLING me. The balls of my feet hurt when I do jumping jacks, jump rope, or other activities that have impact. I already have knee problems, and my Nikes don't help with that either! Plus, the arch in my foot is pretty high and there is zero arch support in these shoes.

Now that I have placed the Dr Scholl's Active Series inserts in my shoes, I have noticed a change. The balls of my feet don't really hurt from impact anymore. I noticed that there is a softness and support under my heels. And my arches? They are getting some much needed support these days.

While my knees still ache, it is no longer because of my shoes. It is because I have bad knees. I can come to terms with that when my feet are killing me too! I feel like I can get a better work out now that I am not focused on my foot pain.

If you have a lot of money invested in your athletic shoes, and they aren't living up to their price, you should really give the Active Series a try! They provide support and comfort that my shoes were lacking. Plus, an added bonus? They look pretty cool too!

Let me give you the DL on the product. Your foot is subject to shock 2-3 times you body weight with every step you take. The Active Series Insoles reduce shock by 40%. The insoles also help prevent and relieve the pain from shin splints, runner's knee and plantar fasciitis. You can see in the photo above that there is triple zone protection for the ball, arch and heel. And no worries, they also help reduce foot odor with Sweatmax technology. We could all use some of that!

Don't take my word for it, go check them out for yourself! Here is the link.

A friend of my sister-in-law made this for a football party a few weeks ago and I cant get enough of it! I am not even one that usually likes fruit dips, I don't find them necessary. I do now! I didn't get the exact recipe from her, I just asked what was in it and sort of went with it. No measuring required.

The combination of the sweetness of the fruits with a little tart from the lemon flavor in this dip is a party for your mouth. Trust me.

What you need:

2 boxes of sugar free, lemon flavored J-E-L-L-O (gotta sing it like the commercials!)
1 can of pineapples (the juice for the dip, the pineapple chunks to dip, I try to buy no sugar added but they didnt have any this time when I went t0 the store)
1 tub of lite or fat free cool whip (I used Lite)

What you do:

Mix it all together.

And as if it couldn't get simpler than that...you can dump the jello mix and a little pineapple juice in the cool whip container and mix it right in there. It has a lid and everything for storage! We are fancy here in Alabama.

For the pineapple juice, I don't measure, I just kind of dump a little in there. If I had to guess, it would probably be about a little less than half a can worth of pineapple juice. You don't want the juice to weigh down the dip too much or make it too liquidly.

Check out this texture! Amazing!

I like to serve it with grapes, strawberries and the pineapples that were in the can.

It lasts in the refrigerator for a few days, so you can have a healthy snack all week!

Even though it only takes a few seconds to throw together, Mac likes to pretend like he was ignored for an eternity. So dramatic. (And lazy. He is our watch dog laying down with his head resting between the poles. Honestly. It must be exhausting being so darn cute.)
Well hey there. I am one of the unlucky ones that has to work today. Personally I think that presidents day is an under-rated holiday and it should be observed by all. I personally would like to take the day to reflect on all the amazing presidents that we have had in the past....and count down the days until the next election where we can once again have a decent president. Oh, little morning rant? My bad.

Friday - After work we just came home and relaxed. We ordered pizza and had beer out on our deck. Wonderful.

Saturday is a day of football in the wonderful state of Alabama. What better way to start that day, then a nice hardy lunch at Red Robbin. Obviously my cheat meal for the weekend! I got the whiskey bbq burger.

We watched the GA vs Mizzou game at lunch and I was sad that they were taken down. Too many hurt players. After we left there, we headed over to my sister-in-law's to watch the FL vs LSWho game and of course the Alabama vs Kentucky game. Roll Tide!

Sunday - I slacked around for a little while in the morning and watched Enchanted. Because it is awesome. Duh! Then we headed out in search of some shelves for our game room downstairs. We found some, but realized last night when we went to put them together that they are the wrong color. They had displayed an expresso wood and when we got home we discovered what was in all the boxes was some funky medium colored hideous wood. Those will be going back!!!

We also went to Bargain Hunt to get Chris a few things for his new office space. They changed building locations this weekend. I found this years Christmas shirt while I was there! For $2.99, I couldn't pass it up!

That is from three different mornings! Look at that fog sitting in the valleys as the sun shines so brightly. Just beautiful. It is breathtaking every. single. morning. Don't even get me started on how wonderful the sunsets are. The way the pink and purple shades the mountains. I loved my downtown Atlanta skyline view when I lived there. But I get to breathe fresh air now and don't have to hear sirens all hours of the day.

2. Dinner with an old friend. I got to see one of my really good friends from college last night after work. He is in town this week for business. Nothing like spending a few hours catching up with an old friend and talking about the good ole college days!!

Sometimes I forget that I was born a "Yankee" and other times....well other times I feel like I am living on another planet. It is crazy how different some things are between the north and the south. Let's do a little comparison, shall we?

via

In the south everyone says y'all. Now, I don't mind it...I have actually grown used to it and don't wince anymore when I hear it. However, I physically can not say it. I just cant. It comes out you all. Up north we said "Yinz" or you "you guys".

In the south everyone is all about some college football. You HAVE to pick a team. It is a rule. ESPECIALLY if you live in a state with rival teams. Georgia vs Georgia Tech, Alabama vs Auburn. Yes, both southern states I have lived in have been centered around these four schools. I gave in. Roll Tide!!! And go Dawgs unless they are going to effect Alabama in some way.

While we broach the subject of football, can we talk about attire? Up north I remember going to football games in jeans and coordinating team sweatshirts. Down here? You must wear a cute dress, fun shoes and matching accessories. To a football game. Fine. I will play your games. (It is a cuter look, after all. Who doesn't love fun elephant necklaces and cute houndstooth dresses.)

Up north when you sympathize with someone, you usually say something like "sorry" or "I understand." Down here? "Well bless your heart." I don't know why, you just do. I knew I made a turn for the south when I caught myself saying it a few months back. I have, after all, officially lived in the south longer than anywhere else.

Also, bless your heart can be taken as a way of politely insulting someone in the south. You see, most people think southerners are dumb but they can insult you and you don't even know. That takes some talent!

While we are on the topic of sayings, lets go over a few more that you will here around these parts:

Heavens to betsy (who is Betsy anyway?)
Slower than molasses
He ain't got a pot to pee in
Mad as a wet hen
I'm fixin' to do something
All y'all
Thank you kindly
Quit being ugly
Daggummit

Let's move on the beverages, shall we? In the northeast I drank pop, the Midwest I had a soda and down south everything is Coke. In any state south of Virginia you can order yourself a sweet tea without getting packets of sweet 'n lo shoved in your face with a side of an eye roll. I myself will drink tea either way. Nothing like a good sweet tea on a hot summer day...but it was an acquired taste that took some time to get used to! I honestly prefer my tea unsweetened, but don't let my southern neighbors know. I will be called a damn Yankee again!

There are some staples down here in the south when it comes to food. You have your okra, grits, and good ol' fashioned banana pudding. Now I have never had better banana pudding anywhere else! Okra and grits...I simply can not do! Something about each of their textures completely disgusts me. You will also find fried chicken at any get together. My favorite discovery has been something that my in-laws serve, pineapple casserole. Holy yum! I could eat an entire pan of it if I allowed myself to!

That my friends are a few difference I have noticed since residing south of the Mason Dixon. I am going to be honest, I have grown quiet fond of my new found southern ways.

Bless your hearts and happy Thursday!

Oh Wednesday, you give us hope. A light at the end of the tunnel we call Friday. You are the half way point.

So today I am going to link up for the "I don't know about you but I'm feeling 21." We are supposed to talk about how awesome and epic our 21st birthday was.

My 21st birthday party with my friends was so epic, that I don't know that I have any pictures for it. It was August 17, 2004....so you can imagine that times were a little different then. Social media was just getting started, and you had to be a college student to join Facebook. In fact, I didn't join Facebook until just a few months before I turned 22. I was more of an AIM person then. I had an extensive buddy list and an awesome away message and profile, OK!?

Oh to be 21 again. My friends had a party for me to celebrate my 21st birthday. School had just started back and it was my last year of college. (I graduated when I was 21.) I remember our friend Nathan brought over a HUGE ass bottle of absolute vodka. And that is all I remember. Ha, just kidding! <strike>Sort of.</strike> I just remember hanging out at the apartment, listening to music, dancing, drinking and having an awesome time. That was the one and only time that I had gotten so drunk that I could barely walk and didn't feel so hot the next morning. I didn't really ever have hang overs then. The truth is, I don't like to be drunk. I don't like losing control over my body. Some people call that being a control freak or OCD. I just call it being awesome, OK?

On the actual day of my 21st birthday I traveled out to Alabama to see my parents. They took me out for dinner to O'Charley's in Oxford. You might be thinking, O'Charley's? Really? Well it was the one of the only restaurants in the area so it was a big deal haha! They bought me my first <strike>legal</strike> drink. It was a White Russian. Yum!

Since I don't have any pictures of the said events, I am going to photo bomb you with 3 random pictures of when I was 21. Enjoy!

You can find the original recipe here. It was delicious and rather satisfying, probably because of the rice. My husband even enjoyed it and said he wouldn't mind having it again! Because I was completely excited about trying this soup, I went straight to eating it when it was ready and failed to take a pretty picture of it in my white bowl. Instead, I leave you with reheat in my glass lunch bowl at work.

What you need:

3 cups of cooked brown rice ( I just used brown minute rice because I had a box I needed to use up)
1 lb of ground beef (I used extra lean, I use extra lean in every recipe)
1 small to medium yellow onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
3 cloves of garlic, chopped (I forgot to buy fresh garlic, so I used minced and it was fine)
2 cans of petite diced tomatoes (14.5 ounce)
1 and 3/4 cup of tomato sauce
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 tsp of dried marjoram
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

What you do:

In a large pot, brown ground beef on medium-high heat. Once browned, add onion, pepper, and garlic and reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook for about 5 minutes.

While my ground beef was browning, I cooked the brown rice and let it sit in a pot with a lid to stay warm.

Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, marjoram, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer on low for about 30 minutes.

Serve in a bowl topped with brown rice.

This was excellent left over! Make sure you store the rice separate, as you don't want it to get soggy in the soup!
It is another Monday I see. Drat! This weekend was very eventful and I feel I didn't have enough couch time yesterday!

Friday evening - Chris and I went for Sushi at Konomi. It was wonderful, as always. Then we headed over to his parents house and hung out for a little while.

Saturday - It was time for me to get my hair cut! My goodness it has been WAY too long since I have had it done last! I got all over color instead of color and highlights because I was in a hurry. I had to make it to a surprise engagement party for some sweet friends!!

Chris and I left there and headed downtown to catch some games. We went to The Red Zone in Five Points. The place was set up cool, but it was just not the right fit for us. And the drinks were AWFUL! I got a beer that I have had lots of times at different places. I have had it in a bottle and on draught. They had it on draft and it was the worst thing I have EVER tasted. So gross. Chris has gotten on of his go to's as well, and his was terrible also. I wouldn't recommend this place! How do you mess up beer?

We quickly left there and decided we were close to 65 N and so we got on and headed to Gardendale to check out Top Games. It is a vintage video game store that we have been meaning to check out forever. They didn't have as much stuff as we were hoping, but still a great place to stop! We picked up a grab bag from there of some NES games. We knew there were 5 games in the bag, but had no clue what they would be. It was a dud, but still fun!

We got in the car and started to head back down towards Birmingham and then Chris said, I kind of want to go to Gamer's Paradise in Huntsville. I was like well we are already sort of half way there....So we got off the next exit, and headed back on 65 N and went to Huntsville! We justified it by saying that we could check out Bargain Hunt, go to TGI Friday's for dinner (we don't have one in Birmingham anymore) and try and see our friend Amanda while we are there! And so we did!

Gamer's Paradise is my favorite video game store in North Alabama. They have a ton of stuff, the guys there are really nice and they have fair prices. We picked up a few Nintendo 64 games that we lost or didn't have. Chris also got another game as well that he was missing for his Sega Saturn.

When we left Gamer's Paradise we realized there were only a few minutes left in the Georgia vs Tennessee game and I am a Georgia fan (after the Tide of course) so we decided to find the nearest bar with a TV and crash for the last few minutes. The game was basically tied so we figured it would go in to overtime. And it did. We found an Outback and hung out at the bar for a few minutes. The Dawgs pulled it out, heck yes! Alabama won their game earlier that day, so I was happy both my teams won.

We left Outback and headed to Bargain Hunt to check out what deals they had. We found a few little things then it was time for dinner! I love TGI Friday's and this was my cheat meal for the weekend! I got a Mojito too! Yummy! We ordered appetizers. We got Bacon Macaroni and Cheese bites (pictured below), the sesame Jack Daniel's chicken and a side of sweet potato fries. Everything was amazing.

After dinner we were to meet up with our friend Amanda in the Providence area of Huntsville. It is this very cool live/work/play community that had tons of fun restaurants. We met up with her at Mellow Mushroom because they have lots of great beers on draft there. We hung out there for a few hours and then headed back home. We didn't get home until 1:30 am!

Sunday morning we met up with some friends for breakfast at Waffle House and did our grocery shopping for the week. Then we came home, I did a little light cleaning. Yesterday was my mom's birthday so I called and talked to her for awhile. We made plans to have lunch next Sunday to celebrate because my sister wasn't available this weekend. Then it was time for some video gaming. I played several of the new games we got this weekend, and then tried out Raymond for the Xbox. It was so awesome! I love it!

After a few hours of gaming, we cooked dinner and watched a movie. Then I pouted like a 5 year old that I didn't want the weekend to be over and have to go to work in the morning. Then pouted some more and went to bed.

Overall we had a fantastic weekend and I am sad and depressed that it has come to an end! Back to it peeps. Focker out.

1. My oldest niece Haven is the homecoming queen this year!!! How awesome is that? My sister texted me this picture and I couldn't be more proud. How cute is she in her little uniform and crown? She looks so tiny next to that football player!
2. I have officially pulled out my fall and winter nail colors, and I couldn't be more excited! I have been on a kick about having my finger nails painted. Normally I never paint them because they usually chip immediately from typing, but I have managed to paint my nails two weeks straight. Maybe a new thing for me...I dunno? I haven't been biting them since painting, so it can only be a good thing! (That doesn't mean that I don't still bite around them....baby steps people. Baby steps.)

3. I have had a few people ask me what I put in my green smoothies in the mornings. In this order, I put about 3 huge handfuls of spinach, 1/2 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk (and usually a splash more than half a cup), 2-3 tablespoons of vanilla yogurt (regular fat free kind, I cant stand that Greek yogurt shit it is too sour cream tasting for me), a cup of frozen strawberries and a banana. Sometimes I do half a cup strawberries and half a cup pineapple to switch it up. Just blend it until it looks lean, mean and green! That is a regular Ninja blender that I am using. It is AWESOME and much cheaper than those $300 nutro-whatever blenders. Gotta save those dolla dolla bills!

4. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! I am sure you have all seen the one pan chicken dinner on Pinterest. I have made this meal once before and it was pretty good so we did it again last night! All you do is take chicken breasts, green beans (canned and drained or fresh) and some new potatoes and place them all in one 9 x 13 pan. You then sprinkle one pack of Italian dressing on it and pour a little melted butter over it and place it in the over for one hour at 350 degrees. Bada bing bada boom winner winner chicken dinner!

I started my design transformation but didn't have time to complete it. Also, just this week I recently decided to change even more, so be on the look out for bigger better things soon. In the mean time, please don't mind my mess!

I have taken interest lately in all of the 30 by 30 lists that people have posted. It got me thinking, there are a LOT of things that I would love to do...but just haven't done or gotten around to. Sooo I figured, what better way to accomplish these things than to do a 40 by 40 list! I have 10 years (well 9 years and 10 months) to accomplish all 40 things on my list! I haven't compiled the whole list yet, and it is sort of a work in progress, however, I have made it public to start holding myself accountable.

My twenties were all about finishing up college, getting myself into the real world on my own, figuring out who I was, trying to become financially stable (or at least be able to pay my bills and have some pretty things), and decide what I want in life. I went from being a college student, to a responsible adult, to a married woman. Now that I have those aspects of my life down, I want to enjoy living! I want to do some things that I have always wanted to do. I want to go to Disney World, I want to shop in New York City, I want to pick up some new hobbies, see new things, live my life and have fun doing it!

My 40 x 40 list will be public page on my blog at all times, and I will update it as I complete the list of things to do, and cross them off when I finally get to do them! Below is what I have so far:

40 things I want to accomplish by the time I turn 40:

1. Go to Disney World
2. Design my very own webpage
3. Visit a new state that I have never been to
4. Go to 5 concerts
5. Finish reading all of the Harry Potter series and watch all the movies
6. Get another tattoo
7. Hit my goal weight
8. Start my own business (even if it is just on the side or an Etsy store)
9. Become a "runner" (or at least be able to run a mile)
10. Purchase a Kitchen Aid Mixer
11. Go to New York City
12. Learn a new hobby

I am so excited at even the thought of doing just a few of these things in the next ten years!!! I am going to try my hardest to accomplish them all. What are some things you would like to do?

September has come and gone, and I am so NOT where I wanted to be goal-wise. I was trying to get my shit together in September and it just didn't happen. All I get is an honorable mention. I woke up EVERY single weekday morning at 4:30 am and did Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 work out. I am currently finishing up my last week. (I started a week in to the month.)

While I am super proud of the fact that I have "shown up to class" in the mornings....I am not so proud of my results. There is something to be said about the fact that abs are made in the kitchen! I am really good about being healthy for breakfast and lunch during the week. I have been drinking my spinach smoothies in the mornings and usually doing soup, salad and a little cottage cheese for lunch. I am pretty good for weeknight dinners. I usually try to cook up something healthy most nights and stick to as close to a portion sized meal as I can. I might have an afternoon snack that consists of a rice cake, chex mix or maybe a few crackers...nothing too crazy. Except for last night, last night I may have had a chocolate chip cookie. <strike>or three</strike> I have only been drinking water, coffee, and green tea during the week. I have cut out diet sodas pretty much completely. Unless I am eating at a Mexican restaurant...I have to have a diet coke at a Mexican restaurant, it is the law.

So, where do I go wrong you ask? The freakin' weekends! It starts with Friday nights. We have been on a kick about saving money and not going out on Fridays so we have been doing pizza at home Friday nights. Normally I have 2 pieces max. Not HORRIBLY wrong...but I could do better! Then Saturday and Sunday I pretty much eat whatever the hell I want. Chips and salsa, cheese fries, bar food and beer. Saturday and Sunday basically undo EVERTHING that I work hard on all week. It has become a vicious and tiring cycle and it needs to stop.

This Friday, instead of having frozen pizza, we are going to go out for Sushi and Miso soup. You cant go wrong with some raw tuna and some soup broth. We used to do sushi Fridays before and it worked pretty well. I am also going to cut back on the amount that I cheat during the weekends. Instead of cheating at every meal both Saturday and Sunday, I will allow myself ONE cheat meal. No more real bacon or biscuits in the mornings, no snacking on ridiculousness all day, and I will find healthier options if we go out. I have to have one cheat meal so that I am not completely depriving myself and hating life.

I look at the calendar and see September as a waste of 30 days that I didn't get serious enough, that I didn't try hard enough. There is nothing to do but to start over again. It has to be done.

You may ask yourself, what do all of these Elf pictures and GIF have to do with this post? Christmas is my favorite, that's why.
My goodness, I cannot believe it is October 1?!?! I also cant believe how dark it is getting so early in the evening. Why is it that this is a huge surprise to me every year? In the spring I will be surprised how long day light lasts, go figure.

The last prompt for Blogtember was yesterday. I never got around to posting because it required me to dig in boxes. Ain't nobody got time for digging on a Monday! I certainly didn't want to miss out on the post topic though because I have so many things I want to share it was hard to pick one.

The topic: Share a photo of something old. Maybe something that has a personal history for you, that was passed down to you and has special meaning to you. Tell us about why it is special.

When I was in high school, we lived in Atlanta. Every month on a certain weekend, there would be a HUGE antique show downtown. One weekend my parents thought it would be fun for us to go and check it out. We weren't really sure what to expect to find at it, but it was something to do.

Upon arrival I was mesmerized by all the different items they had! Sure, there were lots of booths with things you would expect to see at an antique show. Furniture, jewelry, clothing, war memorabilia, etc. What was I interested in you ask? The toys that were popular when I grew up! We were closing in on the 20 year anniversary of many of the toys and shows that were near and dear to my heart. Most specifically the Care Bears!!!

And so began my love for collecting old glasses. The 4 above are just a sampling of the MANY collections that I have obtained over the years. I have Care Bears, Smurfs, Flinstones, Snoopy, Popples, old Disney characters, Looney Toons. Garfield, you name it I have it. Currently they are boxed up in a corner in one of our guest rooms, but I have high hopes of one day either purchasing or having my dad build me a cabinet to display my collection.

Not only does the collection remind me of all the things I loved as a child, but it reminds me of all those weekends I spent with my parents walking around the Lakewood Antiques shows in Atlanta. We spent HOURS and HOURS walking around the different booths. We became regulars and got to know some of our favorite vendors and looked forward to seeing them once a month. I remember laughing with them about some of the stuff we would see, getting excited when we would find a new glass that we didn't have. It was a great experience and I wouldn't trade those memories for the world.

Just shenanigans, people! Oh how in the world is it Monday already? Why am I so tired? I literally laid on the coach 80% of Sunday watching a Law and Order SVU marathon. But more about that later! It is time for some weekend shenanigans!

Friday - After work Friday, Chris and I headed out to Tide Pride so he could pick up a new Alabama tshirt to wear for Saturday. We made pizza like we do every Friday night and watched the first episode of South Park for the season. Don't ask me why I still watch this show. It came out when I was in high school and it is one of those shows that I watch out of obligation now. I fell asleep in the first five minutes if that tells you anything.

Saturday- I woke up and did the usual cleaning and made breakfast. Then we headed out for the day! We went to the new Bargain Hunt in Hoover where I scored some Pittsburgh Penguin glasses for ten cents! We also got Chris a beer glass that says "The Day is Only Wasted if I am Not." We thought that was pretty funny.

We then headed down to World of Beer to watch the GA vs LSU game. What a game, huh? I of course was pulling for the Dawgs and they kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time but were able to pull it out in the end. Yay! We were supposed to meet up with some of our friends at Rare Martini for a football party at 5:30 pm. You ask, football party? Chris won a football party on Facebook and was promised VIP seating for us and friends, free swag and 2 lbs of wings. We called ahead to let them know of our arrival and when we got there, Chris explains it best, "It looks like a dialysis waiting room in here!" So we announced ourselves and said we were there for the football party, one of the guys acted confused and was like well you can sit anywhere. They only had high top tables for 2 set up, not the party of 8 that we had coming. It was dead silent in the whole place, as three old guys sat at separate tables watching the one screen they had up. Chris told them we would need a minute, and we turned around and walked out. Chris called out friends outside and told them about how lame it was in there and that we would be heading back to WOB.

They met us up there, we ordered bar food and watched Alabama take down Ole Miss. Roll Tide! Well our friends decided that if there was free swag to be had, that we needed to head back over there and have it! So....we went back to Rare Martini. Luckily, there were more lively people in there later that evening. I have been there before, and just never really had a good time. I don't know why, I just don't like that place. But, sometimes it is the company you are with and not the venue that can make your night! Even though Rare Martini SCREWED us on our bar tab...because I was not drinking there so I knew exactly how much was ordered and they charged us about 3 times as much as should have been charged....we still had an excellent time with our friends!

Sunday - And since I am an old person, Sunday was a day for recovery of said shenanigans. I only had beers at WOB, and nothing to drink at Rare. Was not even buzzing the entire day....and yet I still laid on the couch all day yesterday morning the death of my youth and reminded myself that I simply can not just hang anymore. Either way, it was a fabulous time and I am sure that against my better judgement, it will happen again!

Oh, and by the way....I had the Woodchuck Fall Cider at WOB, and holy fall yummy in a cup! That shit was amazing and wonderful and everything I could ever ask a fall beer to be. You should try some, right now!

And that folks, is the weekend that was. Happy Monday!
So I have had this little ol' blog of mine for nearly a year, and there are some things I just don't understand. Still. Could someone please answer the following, as they are a blogging mystery to me!!!

1. Who takes all your model like pictures?

Seriously, please fill me in! All of these bloggers are looking all cute in their little outfits and looking all model like and it is obviously not a selfie...so please do tell me who takes your picture? Is it another blogger that lives close by to you? I know it isn't your husband. It cant be. My husband would literally die laughing if I asked him to take 5 pictures of me in the same outfit with different poses and a serious face. I would NEVER hear the end of it. Oh! The mockery and shame I would receive.

2. How do you have time for all this DIY project work. When did you make Pinterest your job?

I have a full time job. While I understand some bloggers out there are stay at home moms or stay at home wives, I think the majority of you have jobs where you have to leave the house and be at an office of some type for 8-10 hours per day. How in the hell do you have time to post a minimum of 1 new recipe and 1 new DIY craft project a week?! I'm lucky I have time to blog and fit in all of my TV shows. I must learn your superman skills. Also, how do you get all these Pinterest projects to work? I have more fails than I care to admit.

3. Who the hell is Phillip Lim and why have I never heard of him until everyone is writing posts about crying in Target because his bags are sold out:?!

Did I miss something? I have designer bags, and only designer bags. I am a designer bag snob. Yet, I have never heard of Phillip Lim and don't understand why his bags run so ridiculously high. Is it because I am old and not hip anymore? Please tell me this is not the end for me.

4. Where do you get money to sponsor all these bloggers and pay for an awesome design?

I might know the answer to this....you are selling all your DIY project items on Etsy maybe? If not, like seriously...where does they money come from? I am not a bigger blogger, not really my goal. But I just don't understand how everyone has money to pay for sponsoring and give aways and $150 blog designs. I am over here like "Hey I am trying to figure out design on my own because this blog makes me no money, so how can I justify to spend money on it?" Plus, I bet $150 would get me a pretty sweet Phillip Lim bag from Target....

5. Grooveshark. WTF?

I am an idiot. I even read Whitney's post on Grooveshark and yet I still can NOT figure out how to get the damn link to work in my blog posts. It is SOOOOO frustrating. So every Friday I am trying to backthatazzup and I just cant. I promise I have lots of awesome songs to share, I just am not sure of how to share said songs. It is probably most surely my messed up blog design. I promise I am fixing this shit, slow but steady!

Am I the only one who is totally clueless? Are there any blogging mysteries you want to have solved?

I am linking up with Joy today for the Friday Five. Happy Friday!

Once you see my list of regulars, you will realize I have no life and wonder what I do with my summers when there are no new episodes. I will tell you what I do....I find new shows to watch and get addicted to!

Here we go, in no particular:

How I Met Your Mother

I have watched this show from the beginning, and while I admit that the last 2 seasons haven't been quite as on par with the rest of the series....I faithfully tune in each week because I cant get enough from Lilypad and Marshmallow's love or Barney Stinson's awesome playbook and brocode. After all, it is legen wait for it dary! Legendary!

The Big Bang Theory

I love nerds, obviously...I married an IT nerd and our basement is full of retro gaming systems and I freaking love it! I love each character on this show for many reasons. Sheldon cracks me up and his view on things is hilarious. This show has never had a bad episode. Ever. I can watch rerun after rerun and crack up every. damn. time. If you ask me what my favorite show is, this is the first one that pops in my head.

Revenge

Holy suspense! Revenge is just awesome. While the show sometimes steers away from the actual revenge...I love it! I love to hear Emily speak, she is so eloquent. Plus, Daniel Grayson is totally hot and I love Nolan. His one liners are hysterical!

Pretty Little Liars

Don't ask me why...but I am completely hooked to this high school drama and I cant get enough! I just started watching this show over the summer and have caught up to the current season in a matter of just a few weeks. Judge away....but you know you are a closet fan!

Vampire Diaries

Another show you can judge me for. I don't care, this show freaking rocks! In love with a character? Be careful they might kill them off in the next episode, but in a world full of vampires, witches and werewolves no need to fear...I am sure they will be back! This is another show that I just started watching this summer and caught up with the current season in a matter of like 2 weeks. I don't know how I am going to ever wait a week between episodes....seriously!

Scandal

We just started watching this show last week. We are almost caught up, just a few episodes in season 2 left to go. This show is amazing. The storylines are great, and I love Olivia Pope. I would totally hire her if I got in a jam. And Huck? Huck might be creepy, but he cracks me up!!!

Modern Family

I love this show. Phil is freaking hilarious! It is light hearted and funny, and a true depiction of how modern families really are.

Law and Order SVU

My true and faithful. I have been watching this show FOREVER. Plus, it helps that they always have marathons on TV during the week and on weekends. Lazy Sunday? Chances are it is thanks to SVU. Procrastinating distractions when I in college? This show. LOVE it. Though, it has caused me to be a paranoid freak. I thought the show was going to never be the same when Stabler left, boy was I wrong! I love the new cast just as much.

Grey's Anatomy

I remember the very first episode I watched of Grey's. It was the first season finale, my friend Liz said I just HAVE to see it. Snow Patrol Crashing Cars started to play and my life was never the same. Every year Chris and I wait until the end of the season and watch the entire season in like one weekend. So don't any of you dare spoil it for me!

New shows that I will try:

Ravenswood -

The spin off of Pretty Little Liars. I am intrigued to see what this will be about.

The Originals -

The spin off of Vampire Diaries. I seriously love Klaus, Elijah and Rebecca and will totally watch a show just about them. Though, I am scared of there being something missing on Vampire Diaries without them.

That is a lot of TV! Yeah, I might have a problem! You will notice there are no reality TV shows clogging up my brain though...so there's that. Although, anytime I am home alone...I try and see if there is a Keeping Up With the Kardashian's episode on TV. I can't help myself....they make me feel normal :) And I love Khloe. She is the only one that is have way decent and keeps shit real.

Chris and I watched the first two episodes of Brooklyn Nine Nine last night. We think this show might have some potential. If nothing else, the Allstate Mayhem guy is in it, need I say more??

So, what are your favorite shows? You think I am missing out on anything?

Today's topic: Write about a time you screwed up, a mistake you've made.

There is epic, and then there is epic fail. Am I right? Not every decision we make is going to be the best one. I firmly believe that we learn from our mistakes, and some of our mistakes make us who we are today.

I am not perfect. There are many things I probably could have done differently. I could sit here and tell you all the mistakes that I have dated, and boy there were some doozies. But Rascal Flatts couldn't have written more perfect lyrics about that:

Every long lost dream led me to where you are

Others who broke my heart were like northern stars

Pointing me on my way into your loving arms

This much I know is true

That God blessed the broken road

that led me straight to you

There are many times that I have put my foot in my mouth and said something I regret. There are some outfits that have been mistakes. There were some events I should have attended and missed out on. I am human, I make lots of mistakes.

I think that one of my biggest mistakes that I have made was rushing through the motions of college. I was so concerned about graduating in four years that I stuck with the major that I picked for myself upon starting college. I didn't want to be one of those people that stayed 5-7 years because they changed courses half way through more than once! I thought if I stuck with one major and dedicated myself to it, I would look responsible and driven.

Now? Those years came and went so quickly. I didn't have near the fun I should have had. I didn't focus on what I truly wanted to do with my life. To this day, I still don't know what it is that I want to do. I don't want to be one of those people that just does what they need to do to get by in their career, I don't want to live for Friday and the weekends. I want to truly ENJOY what I do every day.

I read a statistic somewhere about how only about 34% of Americans are truly and completely satisfied with what they do. Considering that what you do takes up the majority of your life, it really is a damn shame. I watched my dad suffer through 30+ years at his company, hating every bit of it. I watch my mom work her ass off at her job, just hoping that she can make it until she is 55 to collect retirement and find something else. I don't want to be like that.

If I would have stayed in school a little longer and focused on what I really enjoyed, maybe I wouldn't have wasted my twenties bouncing around from job to job in the same field...clinging to my degree like it was some sort of road map for my life and wondering why I was lost.

My advice to those of you who are younger, embrace your college years! Take a few classes because you think it will be interesting, not because they are required or they look good on your resume. Have some fun while you are there, be serious about class but be care free as well!

On a completely lighter note, it is HUMP DAY bitches and it is time to blog hop with Liz!

So today's topic is to review a book, place or product. Instead of doing just one item, I want to tell you about a few things I am loving right now!

1. Pumpkin Pie Spice Creamer

Holy yum! Can't afford to drive thru Starbucks every morning for the PSL this fall? No problem, you will hardly miss them once you add this creamer to your coffee! Why is it out only in the fall? Like Peppermint Mocha, this should be around all year!

2. Target's Cartwheel App

I know I spoke of this yesterday in my post, but I see you haven't taken me seriously. If you shop at Target for ANYTHING, you need to download this free bag of money pronto. Let me explain how it works. You download the app, you sign in through your Facebook account and you begin picking out coupons for products that you are going to purchase anyways. You don't like free money? Then send me some, because obviously you have too much! The more Facebook friends of yours that use the app, the more coupons you can chose each week. You start out with 10. You can change the coupons in and out each trip and you can purchase up to 6 items in one transaction with the discount! This discount is ON TOP of any other coupons you might have or the 5% you get for paying with your red card.

3. Green Monster Smooties

That's right folks. I am back to serious, and every morning before I head to work I blend up some spinach, almond milk, yogurt, strawberries and bananas and get to chugging. And you know what? I actually like it! I need to get some more chia seeds or flaxseeds or something to put in there since I am being for real about them again. Any recommendations?

4. Amy's Burrito

If you are looking for a quick lunch idea, these burrito's are pretty tasty! I like to pair it with left over Spanish rice when I have tacos, salsa chicken or enchiladas from the night before. My favorite so far has been this one pictures, it has cheese and beans and is super quick and yummy.

5. Saw's BBQ

If you live in the Birmingham area and have not been, you have got to check out Saw's BBQ. Pictured above is their chicken baker (baked potato, bbq chicken, cheese, butter, sour cream, bacon and green onions.) My mouth is watering just remembering how awesome this was for lunch! There are a few locations, Homewood, Mountain Brook and there is one near Avondale Brewery. I have been to the Avondale and Mountain Brook locations and both were equally wonderful. The Avondale one can be a trouble to park if it is right at noon during the week because it gets PACKED OUT because it is that good!

Anything you are just loving lately? I am always up for trying something new!

What you're up to, how you're feeling, how you're doing on your goals, etc!

Life lately has seemed to be filled with the same ol' same ol' for the most part. Wake, pout in bed for 3-5 minutes about how I don't feel like getting up at 4:30 am, work out with Jillian as she calls me a fatty, get ready, go to work, come home and cook, watch a little TV, repeat!

I am so excited that fall is upon us! Fall means football, pumpkin flavored and scented everything, leaves changing colors, smores, sweaters, boots, scarves, crisp air, and one happy Nadine! I mean seriously, who doesn't love fall?!

As far as goals go....I have been getting up at 4:30 am Monday-Friday to work out. I was really happy with my 30 Day Shred results, but I haven't seen much of a difference since I started Ripped in 30. While I have just started week 3 today, I feel as though I haven't seen anything change. Now, I could blame this on the DVD, but it is my fault. While I am not eating TERRIBLY, I am certainly not being good. I wasn't cheating as much when I was doing the 30 Day Shred and I am starting to believe more and more that abs are made in the kitchen.

I am going to have to step it up if I want my work offs to truly pay off by eating better. I need to be clean 80-100% of the time, not 40-50% of the time. The Goldfish crackers, tortilla chips and cheese slices all need to go. I need to start back with green monster smoothies in the mornings for breakfast, and eat healthy for lunch and dinner Monday-Friday for sure. I will allow some room for cheats on Saturday and Sunday, but not for every meal. Maybe once cheat for Saturday and one cheat for Sunday. That is going to be A LOT harder now that football season is upon us and I have so many yummy temptations. I will find healthier ways to enjoy the games. And less beer on the weekends. Beer is not good for the belly. Unless you want a beer belly, then it is perfect!

Another goal I have been working on the last few weeks is redesigning my blog all on my own. (Well, I am enlisting my IT husband for a few pointers and such...but no blog designers.) You may notice my new nifty favicon. I have my new header ready to go, am working on new buttons, roll over images, etc., etc. I am hoping to have it all rolled out at once in the next week or two.

There isn't much to report from this weekend. Chris had to work all weekend, so Saturday I cleaned the house, did laundry, and bathed the dogs. That took about 4 hours of my day. I painted my finger nails, something I rarely do. Then meal planned and went grocery shopping. Speaking of grocery shopping, have you all checked out the Cartwheel app that Target has?! If not....you must download immediately. You can save additional money on items you pick from on top of coupons and their 5% red card discount. Why wouldn't you do it? Maybe you like to spend more money for no reason?? The app is free, go check it out. Your welcome.

After grocery shopping, I stopped by Starbucks to get a PSL...and something awesome happened! The car in front of me paid for my drink and told the cashier to tell me "Roll Tide!" And that is why I love Alabama fans :) I will pay it forward next time I am there for sure! It basically made my day, and I would love for someone else to feel the way that I did.

Saturday evening Chris and I went to Best Buy just to look around, and then stopped at his parents house for a bit. Afterwards, we caught some of the Alabama game, ROLL TIDE and we did watch some of the Auburn/LSU game as well. Surprisingly, I was rooting for Auburn to win...something I rarely do.

Sunday I worked on my blog design for a few hours, then headed up to my Dad's house in Ashville. His birthday is today, happy birthday Dad, so my sister and I put a lunch together for him and spent some time up there. Afterwards, I drove back home and met up with Chris after he got off work. We enjoyed some time out on our deck with the dogs, then headed to dinner with his parents. Overall, a great weekend minus the fact that Chris had to work!

So, according to the news the other night, fall will arrive on Sunday at exactly 3:44 pm. Do you know where I will be? Standing outside with open arms and a huge smile. Fall? YES PLEASE! What took you so long?

It got me thinking about transitional pieces into the season. I love nothing more than a good excuse to go shopping! This is my list of the five must haves for the transition in to fall!

1. Booties - It isn't quite cold enough to wear the full on boot, but you are itching to look all fall like.

2. 3/4 length sleeves - Its not HOT but it's not COLD. Like the Bootie, 3/4 sleeves are the perfect balance into transition.

3. Collar Jacket - Need to look put together? A collared jacket will have you looking chic and together in no time. Pair this with a pair of dress pants or jeans and you are good to go!

4. Scarves - Hello, who missed scarves over the summer? I think we all did!

5. Flats - The flip flops of cooler weather. Now if only you could buy them worn in, am I right?

And that my friends, is how you transition into fall! I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! And as always, ROLL TIDE!

Nadinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06920454010509077779noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3756548750353673929.post-845517299139806792013-09-19T06:59:00.000-05:002013-09-19T06:59:11.054-05:00ComfortSo today's Blogtember post is supposed to be a creative writing sample. I like to read fiction, not write it...so I am skipping ahead to the next topic.

React to this term: comfort

When I hear the word comfort, so many thoughts rush to my mind. To me comfort means:

- Spending time with family

-a hug

-Nike shorts and a tshirt (which is what you will ALWAYS find me in if I am at home...or yoga pants if it is super cold)

- cup of hot chocolate (with marshmallows, duh!)

-the sound of snow falling

-the sound of rain while sleeping

-a cozy fireplace

-potato soup

-a snuggle from my furbabies

-mac & cheese

-a cup of coffee and a good book

-a hoodie

-a lazy Sunday

-a day full of TV and movies

-instrumental Christmas music

-a warm blanket

-the smell of fresh laundry

--a cool pillow
-fall scented candles

What does comfort mean to you?

Next up, it is still Blogtember and today's post is supposed to be just pictures. Well, because there are no real rules during Blogtember, I am going to leave you with some pictures...but first I would ask any of your prayer warriors out there to keep my family in your prayers today. I don't want to speculate too much about it right now, but someone is having some tests done today and I really hope that it is just dr's being cautious and it is nothing serious. Speaking of family...
