Letters to My Former Single Self

I have enjoyed linking up with Lisette for Letters to my Former Single Self. Probably my favorite link up ever! Everyone has beautiful, sweet love stories they are sharing, and it really makes my heart smile!

This week's questions:
Describe your first date with your now current partner.
Did you feel any "butterflies" on your first couple of encounters?
Did you have any indication it would later be the "real deal?"

Dear Nadine,

I know that you have had a bit of a crazy last few months. You have met some real weirdos lately! BUT..."Rock Boy" and "The Cry Baby" are in the past, and you have been talking to this guy now for awhile. He seems normal enough. I know you are worried because you feel you have a real connection with him emotionally already. You have spent the last two months really getting to know him by talking on the phone and texting. You are worried about meeting him in person and whether the physical attraction will catch up with the emotional one that you have already established.

First dates can be awkward sometimes. You really want this guy to like you, yet you are afraid of that because it would be a long distance relationship. You are worried about getting hurt, again. Don't fret about it too much, because I have a little secret for you. The guy you are about to meet, well, he is the one!!!

Your first weekend with him will be amazing. When you first meet, you are both very nervous! It's OK though, you eventually get out of the awkwardness of it all. You will spend the day having lunch, driving around Atlanta and stopping at random places. It will be fun. Later that evening, you will lay down with him on your living room floor and have a pretty deep conversation. You two will scoot a little closer to each other as you are talking, and not even realize it. Then it happens, he reaches for your hand as you are talking. That one touch is all you need to know. This feels incredible. Different. Amazing. You know that there is something here. You two will hold hands and talk for a long time.

He ends up staying in Atlanta that weekend. You will have dinner at Fellini's that night, and hang out and watch a movie. When it is time for him to leave, you aren't really sure what to think about the whole weekend. You are nervous and don't want to act too interested and scare him off...yet you don't want him to think that you don't want a relationship with him because you do. He is nervous too, and feels the exact same way. It may be a little awkward, but don't worry. It all turns out and you end up together.

You two will end up spending EVERY single weekend together from there on out. He will drive to Atlanta more often than not, but you go to Birmingham some too. You will decide almost immediately that this will be the last person that you date.

You are right, he is the one! You are in for A LOT of fun!

Love,

Your happily married future self
