Dear Former Single Self

Happy Friday!!! I love doing link ups like this because you get to learn something about people that you may have not have known otherwise.

This week's questions:
What did you think about dating and relationships when you were little?
What do you think of them now?

Dear little Nadine,

Your head is in Disney movies for far too long. It turns out for the better really, you're a good girl and you stay out of trouble. I do have to let you know that prince charming isn't really what you think he might be. Right now you think that everything should be perfect and that some charming man is going to sweep you off your feet one day and its all happily ever after the end. You are going to have to kiss some toads before you meet the man of your dreams, I am afraid. You are going to be in a few relationships with guys that don't really care about you and treat you like crap. You stay for far too long, and let things upset you when it is for the best. It's OK though, they were just keeping you off the market until you met the right one. Don't let those losers bring you down, they aren't worth it.

It's OK that you didn't date anyone all through middle school and high school. You have so much fun with your friends, and you got good grades...you didn't need any stupid boy to distract you from finding out who you are. When you do meet that special guy, it just works out. Everything falls in to place, and it is a fairy tale for you. You may not believe me now, but you will end up moving to a small town in Alabama for him. I know, right? Your going to have to trust me on this one, you will love it! You just rock that smile and stay true to yourself, no need in changing who you are because the right man is going to love YOU!

Know that no relationship is going to be perfect all the time. Know that there will be compromises, and there will be some arguing. Just remember that the person that you are supposed to be with will always be there no matter what, and even if you don't always agree 100% of the time, everything works out! A healthy relationship requires communication and understanding, and you will eventually get that down.

Now keep your head up in those clouds and stay focused, it will all turn out one day.

And eventually you get something similar to a horse and carriage ride! (It runs on Christmas cheer, your favorite!)
And they lived happily ever after!

Love,

 Your wiser future self

  6. I'm the same as you... I didn't date anyone in junior high or high school and in college I dated but I was also way more devoted to my friends. Now that I look back I think that was the way to go because I have so many solid girl relationships that are so fulfilling and meaningful even years later. Just found your blog and have loved getting to know you better. I hope you don't mind if I follow along!
